This would obviously require a whole book in itself!
This is why I have chosen to limit myself to two examples: the first one, below, my wedding celebrated in Strasbourg in 1994, and the second one, on the following page, a lunch offered by Jacques Chirac, President of France, to Gehard Schroeder then German Chancellor at the Elysee Palace in November 1999, where the Clos des Lambrays was served!
We served a 1992 white Chateau La Nerthe, an unbelievable 1989 Chateau La Nerthe Cuvee des Cadettes and a Clos des Lambrays from 1984, a underrated vintage that turned out to be wonderful. I drank our last remaining bottle in the fall of 2005, it was still remarkably young!
The red wines were all served in Magnum - Jeroboams were unfortunately not available!
